Day 8 - The Storm Arrives

Carbon Camp to Upper Nevill's Camp (Miles 65 -76)

The canyon opens up a bit down here and so this is usually one of the hottest parts of any canyon river trip (they call it Furnace Flats). However, today it just rained and rained, making this slow moving day pretty spectacular.

The rain camp. We laid over here to sit out the worst part of the storm. Not a camp with a high demand, but with a natural overhang to cook under and plenty of protection from the wind, Upper Nevills did us right. We spent our time playing the rope game and hiding out in the sauna tent.
