Mount Vaca.
Something worth seeing between San Francisco and Sacramento--the view from Mount Vaca. Nearly the entire northern Sierra Nevada is visible from up here--from Mt Lassen to Yosemite. Plus Cache Creek, the Napa area, Mt Tamalpais, much of the Bay Area, Mt Diablo, the delta and the majority of the Central Valley. A great, great view, especially if you know what you're looking at.
South Lake Tahoe Christmas
Should have taken more pictures...sledding, skiing, and three feet of fresh snow from the first big storm of the season. Plus good times with the Orr gang.

December Rainbow.
I went out to the Middle Fork to try to realign myself with some fishing. Fish were feeding everywhere but I just couldn't calm down enough to catch any of them. Finally, on almost the last cast of the afternoon, I caught this guy. She was not large, but she made my day.
Dora on the Everett Ruess Trail.
Dora and I really became a team during our 2001 hike around the Colorado Plateau--The Everett Ruess Trail. I was looking back at some pics of that trip and decided to post some here in remembrance of that amazing summer with The Beast.
