Wintun Ridge to 11,500 feet.
Wake up to blowing snow and rain. Hike up ridge.

Keep hiking.

Skin when possible.

Stop. Rest.

Into the clouds.

Through the clouds.

Above the clouds.

The highpoint shot.

Decide who goes first.

Then free for all.

Ski back down through the clouds.

Look back at your line. Breathe.

We skied the slope on the right.

(The "Where's Waldo" shot--there are two of us in this pic. Give some sense of scale.)

Our route. 8 miles and 6,100 vertical feet up--sking, hiking, and crawling. 8 miles and 6,100 vertical feet down--skiing.

Mount Shasta - Wintun Ridge - Easter
Drive til snow blocks the road.

Load up your gear.

Scope your line. (My favorite pic from the entire weekend.)

Put on your skis and skins. Go up.

Keep going up.

Get to highpoint. Make camp. Make snowbench. Drink beer. Watch sunset.

(The view from the bench.)
