The beginnings of a vegetable garden.

We'll start out with corn, bell peppers, jalapenos, tomatoes, zucchini, chard, kale, strawberries, sunflowers, honeydew, and snap peas. We'll be lucky if we end up with enough to make a salad...

Easter Egg

Woke up on Easter Morning and found an egg in the rafters. It is under there somewhere.

A Rookie Rides to Mendocino (County)

In a direct effort to combat cabin fever, I took off on a four day bike tour of Central California. Left home in Sacramento on Monday and arrived in Ukiah on Thursday. 185 miles. 22,000 vertical feet up and down (lots of up and down).

Day 1 took me about 45 miles from the morning traffic of Sacramento through the orchards of Davis and Winters to a stealth campsite at the top of Putah Creek near Lake Berryessa.

Spring is now in the Central Valley.

A New World.

After about twenty years, I think I'm finally over my fear/hatred of bicycles. A couple heinous accidents as a kid (no brakes, retaining wall) and I was on to different modes of transport. I think I'm ready to move on. And so I bought a new (used) bike and am venturing out into the world of bicycles.

Today's 20 mile ride up the American River Parkway.

And home via light rail.
